Privacy Policy
DRAFT for review by qualified lawyers in the United States. Not yet legally reviewed. Version 2026-11-03-v30-draft. Effective date: [date].
1. Who we are
Lenvetal LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as QRemo, 1015 Wall St, Suite 111, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA, is responsible for your personal information. Person in charge of the protection of personal information: our Privacy Officer, support@qremo.com, at the address above. This policy applies to the QRemo app and website.
2. What we collect
- Account: name and email from Google, Apple or email sign-up (if you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a relay address; you can change your name on your Profile); your sign-in identifiers; language; the version of the Terms you accepted and when; and, only if you add it, a phone number. A phone number is used only to contact you about your account or a support request. It is never shown to other users, sold, or used for marketing, and you can remove it at any time on your Profile.
- Area: ZIP code you enter, which is also saved with each item you add. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
- Household items: product names, brand, flavor or variant, size, category, barcode, lot number, opened date, expiry date, how long it lasted, price (when read from a receipt), who on your shared list opened it, and whether it was finished or thrown away.
- Photos: a photo of a product that you save with an item is stored with that item and can be seen by the people on your shared list. Other photos (of printed dates, labels and receipts), and photos taken to identify a product that you do not save, are sent to our AI provider to be read and are not stored by QRemo.
- What you ask QRemo and what it answers (source records): for each request to QRemo's AI or to the public databases, what was sent (for example text you typed, a barcode, or the names of items sent for recipe ideas) and what came back (for example the product named, the after-opening line read from a product label, or the store and products read from a receipt, without the prices, even those you did not add), as described in section 14 of the Terms of Use. These records do not include photos.
- Barcode table: when you save a product with a barcode, its barcode, name, brand, size and category are added to QRemo's barcode table so other users can find it. The table itself never shows who scanned a product or which shared list it came from. For each entry it records whether the details were named by a user or came from a public government database, how many different shared lists confirmed it, and whether it is confirmed yet; it never keeps details that came only from UPCitemdb or Open Food Facts. To keep the table accurate and to give the teaching reward, we also keep, in separate records that no other user can see: which shared lists confirmed or reported an entry, a different name a shared list gave for it (a suggestion), and which account first taught it. A new entry is marked "not confirmed yet" until a second shared list confirms it, and one person can never replace an existing entry on their own.
- Plans and purchases: which Premium plan you showed interest in, with its price, your language, ZIP code and the number of AI scans you had used; and, if you subscribe, your subscription status, plan, app store, trial or paid period and renewal or expiry date, which we receive from Apple or Google through our subscription provider. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Allowances and rewards: how many AI photo scans you used and earned each month.
- Invitations: your invite code, and which accounts joined with it and when, so rewards can be counted. You see only how many people joined, never who they are. If you joined with someone's code, they see only that one more person joined.
- Technical data: when the app connects to our servers, our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, device and app details, and the time of each request, and we keep a record of each request to QRemo's AI to apply hourly and daily limits. The app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.
- Consent history: when you accepted each version of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and when you turned anonymous insights on or off or gave your consent for medicine information. Like the source records, it is kept so we can show what you agreed to and when; it cannot be changed or deleted from the app, and if you delete your account your identity is removed from it.
- Support: what you write to us and our replies.
We collect this information from you, from people on your shared list (for example items they add), from Apple or Google when you sign in or subscribe, and from the public databases described in the Terms of Use.
3. Medicine and health information
Medicines you track may reveal health information, which we treat as sensitive. For a medicine, QRemo reads only its name, its printed expiry date and its barcode if it has one (and, when read from the square 2D code on some packs, the lot number), and keeps them with the other item details listed in section 2, such as the date you marked it opened and any reminder date you set yourself. QRemo does not ask for photos of pharmacy stickers or prescription labels and does not read after-opening instructions for medicines or infant formula. A photo taken to read a medicine's name or printed date is sent to our AI provider only for that purpose and is handled as described in section 2. If a pharmacy sticker appears in your photo, cover your name and prescription details if you can. For medicines saved in an earlier version of QRemo with a time read from a pharmacy sticker or quoted from the FDA label, the line read or quoted remains in the source records described in section 14 of the Terms of Use; those photos were not stored by QRemo. We use health information only to provide reminders, the medicine cabinet check and recall alerts to you and the people on your shared list, and to keep the source records. It is never included in insights shared with brands, retailers or any third party, is never sold, and is never used for advertising; the same applies to infant formula you track. Before you save your first medicine, QRemo asks for your express consent to store medicine information for these purposes, and records when you gave it. You can withdraw it at any time in Menu → Privacy & terms; QRemo then stops keeping new medicine information until you agree again. [Lawyer to confirm the consent wording and whether more is needed under U.S. state laws.]
4. Why we use it, and your consent
- To provide the Service: reminders, shared lists, product recognition by AI, barcode lookups, recipe ideas, recall alerts, AI scan allowances and rewards.
- To keep records of where dates came from (section 14 of the Terms of Use).
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and misuse (for example of rewards) and improve it.
- To process subscriptions and answer support requests.
- To create anonymous insights for partners, only if you opt in. This is a separate choice and is never required to use QRemo. You can withdraw it at any time in Privacy & terms.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not use technology that locates or profiles you.
5. Anonymous insights for partners
Sharing your anonymous usage is your choice. It is off unless you tick "Share my anonymous usage with brands and stores", and leaving it off never limits what you can do in QRemo. If you opt in, brands and stores may see combined trends, such as which yogurt flavors are finished fastest in an area, but never your name, your photos, your medicines or the infant formula you track.
To produce these trends we combine your item data with that of many other shared lists to produce statistics, for example "in ZIP code 90069, strawberry yogurt is finished on average in 4 days". An area is a 5-digit ZIP code. These statistics never include names, emails, photos, exact dates tied to a shared list, or data about medicines or infant formula, and we never show results for groups smaller than 50 shared lists. We may sell or license these aggregated, de-identified statistics. We keep them only in de-identified form, do not try to re-identify anyone from them, and require by contract anyone who receives them not to try to re-identify anyone. QRemo has not produced any such statistics yet. We do not sell your personal information. You can turn sharing off at any time in Menu → Privacy & terms; your items then stop being used for new statistics, but statistics already produced cannot be withdrawn because they cannot be linked back to you.
6. Who we share with
Service providers that work for us under contracts that protect your information and limit how they may use it: Supabase (hosting, database, sign-in and photo storage); Anthropic (AI: it receives the photos, typed text and product details needed to read a product, date, label or receipt (for a medicine or infant formula, QRemo keeps from the answer only its name, printed date, barcode and lot), the names of items for recipe ideas, the name, brand, size and country of an item to estimate its usual price (never for a medicine or infant formula), the product details found for a barcode, and the name, brand, variant, size, category and country of a product to look for the maker's after-opening instruction on the maker's website, for which Anthropic may use its web search tool (the searches contain only those product details), but not your name or email) [Company to confirm the terms of its agreement with Anthropic on data use and retention, including that the data is not used to train its models, and which search provider its web search tool uses]; RevenueCat (subscription management: it receives your QRemo account identifier and purchase information from your app store); Apple and Google (sign-in and in-app purchases); and our email delivery provider (it receives your email address to send your sign-in code). People on your shared list see the items on it, their photos and who opened them, and your display name. Public databases: when you scan a barcode, only the barcode number (or, for a medicine, the drug code taken from it, used only to name the medicine) is sent; and when QRemo finds a barcode by name, only the brand, name, variant and size are sent. These requests go to openFDA, USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts and its sister databases, or UPCitemdb from our servers and never include your personal information. Makers' websites: to check an after-opening instruction found on a maker's website, our servers open that page directly; the request contains no personal information. Results of these lookups (the page address, the sentence and the time) are shared with all users for up to 90 days and contain no personal information. Others: authorities where legally required, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, and a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized, who must respect this policy. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored and processed in the United States (our database is hosted by Supabase on Amazon Web Services in Northern Virginia) and may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law.
8. How long we keep it
Account and item data: while your account is active, deleted within 30 days after you delete your account (items on a list shared with others stay for them, without your account identifier). Product photos: while the item is kept in your list or history; deleted when you delete the item or your account. Other photos: not stored by QRemo. Source records: [3 years], kept after you delete your account with your account identifier removed, so we can show what the app displayed and why, including to establish or defend legal claims as the law allows. Plan interest, allowance and invitation records: until you delete your account. Records of requests used for hourly limits: usually deleted after about a day. Server logs: [period]. Support messages: [period]. Barcode table entries are not linked to you and are kept. Aggregated statistics contain no personal information and may be kept.
9. Security and breaches
We use reasonable safeguards, including access controls that keep each shared list's data and photos private to its members. If a breach requires notice under U.S. state breach laws, we will notify you and the authorities as those laws require and keep a record of incidents.
10. Your rights in the United States
Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington and others), you can access, correct, delete or export your information, opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" or of targeted advertising, limit use of sensitive information, and appeal our decisions. We do not sell or share personal information, use it for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, or use sensitive information for purposes other than providing the Service. We do not discriminate against you for using your rights. To make a request, write to support@qremo.com; we will verify your request by confirming it from the email address on your account, and an authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission. If we refuse your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; if we deny your appeal, you can contact your state's Attorney General.
11. Emails and notifications
We send service messages needed to run your account. We send marketing emails only with your consent, as required by the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. If you showed interest in Premium, we may tell you when it becomes available.
12. Children
QRemo is for adults (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, or from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child is using QRemo, write to support@qremo.com.
13. Changes
We will ask you to review and accept material changes in the app, and the version and effective date at the top of this policy show when it last changed.
14. Additional information for California residents
Notice at collection. In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in sections 2 and 4: identifiers (name, email, account identifiers, IP address, phone number if added); customer records and commercial information (items you track, prices from receipts, plan interest and subscription status); sensitive personal information (health information that medicines you track may reveal; it is used only to provide the Service); photos; general location (ZIP code; never precise geolocation); and internet or other electronic activity (requests to our servers). We disclose them for business purposes only to the categories of recipients in section 6. We do not sell or share them, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit it. Retention is described in section 8. Your rights, and how to use them, are in section 10.
Notice of financial incentive. Earn Free Credit gives you extra AI photo scans and months of Premium when people join with your invite code, and the free plan gives extra AI photo scans when you teach QRemo a new product. These programs use your invite code and a record of which accounts joined with it and when, and the products you save. You join by sharing your code or saving products, and you can stop at any time by not doing so or by deleting your account. The terms are in section 7 of the Terms of Use. We estimate the value of the information involved as equal to the value of the rewards: about 0.10 U.S. dollars for each extra AI photo scan (what a scan costs us) and 4.99 U.S. dollars for each month of Premium (its monthly price), based on our costs and prices.
Do Not Track and Shine the Light. QRemo does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals to switch off. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing (California Civil Code section 1798.83).
15. Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada and other states)
Some state laws, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, give you rights over "consumer health data", which can include the medicines you track. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, at [link], describes what we collect, why, who receives it and how to use your rights. We collect and share this data only as needed to provide the Service you asked for, and we never sell it.
